touch lives....

January 19, 2010, when we start our observation. It’s time to observe! It’s been a long time when we had our last observation for FS1, and now we’re here to continue our observation for FS2 and FS3.The time we came at Canda Ilaya Elementary School I am very excited to see, to observe and to be with the children. The first thing that we’ve do was to talk with the OIC of our cooperating school for our observation for two field study which is FS2 and FS3 subject, because Sir Raneses who was the principal was still out. It’s very easy for us to observe at our cooperating school, the teacher’s are supported, they welcome us very well and most of them graduated at our school “PNU”.
In our first day almost interns from our school wasn’t there. When I enter the room the children greet me: good morning ma’am Janine and they said: bakit ngayon ka lang po bumalik dami na uli kami teacher! The words that touch my heart, because they remember me even though it’s been a long time when we had our last observation. My cooperating teacher can motivate the children well. The pupils can comprehend the lesson and able to answers those questions given by their teacher. I enjoyed and learned some techniques in motivating pupils. Although I learned that on my last field study, but the situation now was different, their lesson was more difficult, for them. After the lesson they had their Phil ire, and most of them can read well.
11:30 when we arrived at Canda Ilaya. Children bye bye!

January 21, 2010 when we came back to observe at Canda Ilaya. All of our interns are there. I observe that other interns in other rooms had good motivation to their pupils and taught their lessons well, but, there was an intern for me who don’t perform well, the voice wasn’t enough to hear by the other pupils, also when the pupils had their own things to do, some of them are playing, maybe they didn’t like the story or they didn’t hear the voice of their teacher who was an intern, there was two pupils who cried, without knowing of the teacher. After repeating the story many times the teacher ask question, 3,4,5 pupils answer the questions and sometimes they’re not sure of their answers, that’s why the teacher need to read again the story. Although the answers for those questions are written on the board.
It’s written like this….7 days in a week: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, wenesday how did you spell it? Wenesday? Are you serious... it should be Wednesday! Alright. Let’s continue… Thursday, Friday, Saturday. Although in the exercises the spelling was wrong. The time is over its 11:00a.m. But I went to other room and observe them for 30 minutes. That’s why 11:30p.m. When we arrived at canda ilaya… bye bye children!

January 26, 2010. 7:00a.m. when I came at Canda, that’s why during the flag ceremony I was there. The interns are the one who conducted the ceremony. On that day they had an examination; they answer it with the guide of their teacher because the intern wasn’t there already. The teacher read it for the pupils to comprehend each given question and after reading the question pupils answer it, while I checked their achievement test, I enjoy checking their papers because most of them got high scores, before recess the intern who assigned at that room came and helped me checking papers.
After recess the intern who was there already, was the one who guide the pupils taking the examination. At first, the intern just there to look what pupils do during the exam, but when the pupils didn’t know how they answer it the intern read it like our cooperating teacher did. That’s why the pupil’s answer the questions correctly. After the examination the intern conduct review for the examination of the pupils for the afternoon, the subject was mathematics and it was about operations, when the topic was subtraction the intern had an error. It is said that 30-15=25? Are you serious? The answer should be 15 not 25. The intern was trying to said that the answer was correct, even though some students said that was wrong and they are curious, but when the bell rang the intern said that be ready for the examination this afternoon, dismiss the class without explanation and correction.
I can say that the intern should know the lesson to avoid some mistakes, because the pupils imitate what the teacher did. Also the intern should know the technique that might use in certain activity. After the class I and the intern clean the classroom. I arrived at Canda Ilaya at 11:30a.m. . bye bye children!
